Run to Support our Veterans!

Cairn University Athletics and RUN 12:1 Running Club are excited to bring you the 2024 Veterans Day 5K. This is our 4th year offering this race to support our American veterans with a scholarship to further their education after serving their country.  

This is a paved, trail race through beautiful Tyler State Park, Newtown, PA. It is a fun but challenging course on the parks rolling hills. There is also a 1-mile fun run/walk and a virtual run. 

All registrants will receive a unique, custom designed Veteran's Day Race shirt*. And participants in the 5K can compete for overall and age group trophies and medals.

Following is information about the Veterans Day 5K:

Race Information - Saturday, November 16, 2024

• Course: Paved trail format laid out on a rolling terrain course contained within Tyler State Park (Ploute a Route link of Course: www.plotaroute.com/route/1315020) or PDF of Course
• Distance: 5k (3.1 miles) - 1 mile fun run/walk option also available
• Location: Tyler State Park, Newtown, PA
• Parking: The lot closest to the Tyler Park Center for the Arts off Newtown-Richboro Road (Rt. 332) - Number 1 Lane Trail/Stable Mill Rd entrance. Tyler State Park Map
• Registration: Please complete on-line by noon on Friday, November 10. Limited on-site registration will be available as space permits
• Check-in: 8:30am - 9:15am
• Start Time: The race will start at 9:30am – Rain or shine
• Fee: $35 (pre-registration)/$40 on-site; Veteran's, Cairn alumni, faculty & staff $30; Students $20; special team pricing available
• Race Shirts: All participants will receive the custom designed, Veterans Day 5K race-shirt

Virtual Challenge Details

What is a "virtual challenge", how does it work, and why should I do it?

From Friday, November 15, 2024 – Monday, November 18, 2024, take up the challenge and run or walk 1 mile, 5K, 5 miles, or as many miles as you can. This is something that can be done by anyone, anywhere (no matter where in the world you live or are traveling to), any time night or day, any distance, at any pace, during any # of days. You can walk or run any combination of days and distances that works best for you. You can even do it indoors on a treadmill - so just about anyone can do it!

Virtual Challenge

When: Friday, November 15, 2024 through Monday, November 18, 2024
Where: Anywhere in the world
Time: Any time that fits your schedule
Who: Open to all
Shirt: All participants receive the custom designed Veterans Day 5K race shirt. Shirts will be mailed to all participants in the Virtual Challenge
Series Race Shirt: Participants completing both races in the Cairn Fall Race Series (virtually or in person) will receive a RUN 12:1 Running Club moisture wicking shirt
Prizes: All participants are eligible for prizes selected by random drawing during the virtual challenge
