Cairn University Athletics and RUN 12:1 Running Club are excited to announce our newest challenge for 2022, the Highlander Mudder. Part trail race, part obstacle course, part mudder, the Highlander Mudder is sure to challenge you on a 2+ mile course throughout the Cairn University Campus. Unlike any race we have done before, the Highlander Mudder will present you with over 20 obstacles you must conquer, from slides to walls to mud crawls to ropes and nets and acts of strength and balance, this course has it all. Utilizing the unique terrain and natural elements of the Cairn campus, we have put together a fun, innovative and daring set of obstacles that will challenge you from the moment you step off the start line, until you victoriously cross the finish.
For each obstacle completed you earn points. Some obstacles are easy and worth a few points and some obstacles give you a choice, so you can choose the easier version or a more challenging version worth more points. The choice is yours, but because of the options this course can be completed by just about anyone. Points are also awarded on how quickly you complete the overall course.
All "mudders" receive the:
- Highlander Mudder long sleeve race shirt
- Highlander Mudder custom finishers medal
- Runner bag with snacks and goodies
- Muddy memories to last a lifetime
- Satisfaction of knowing they challenged themselves and conquered the Highlander Mudder
There are a limited number of registrations available for the Highlander Mudder. Runners go out in waves of 10-15 every 10 minutes starting at 8:00am, so be sure to register early to get you and your friends registered and in the same wave.
In addition, we strongly advise you register ahead of time to get the lowest price and to guarantee you receive a Highlander Mudder race shirt and medal. You must sign up at least 3 weeks prior to the race (4/9) to ensure you receive a race shirt and medal. Registrations within 3 weeks of race day will receive shirts and medals on an availability basis.
This is a great event for youth groups, sports teams, study groups, and more. Special pricing is available for groups of 8 or more. Please contact dwillard@cairn.edu for group pricing information.
This race is open to all (not just Cairn Alumni and students) and is for participants of all abilities!
