Hope this post finds you all well. What a great day and weekend as we celebrate Easter. While we may not be able to meet and run together, I do hope most of you are able to get out for a brisk walk or run or bike ride several days each week. Not only is 30-60 minutes of easy-moderate aerobic exercise good for you physically, it helps you manage stress, sleep better, and strengthens your immune system. Wow! All great benefits we can enjoy right now.
That being said, we still need to follow all local guidelines/restrictions and practice social distancing when running. For walking, running or biking, social distancing means even more than 6 feet between yourself and others. I have been telling people this for weeks, give yourself at least 20 feet from a walker/runner in front or behind you because you get in their air space quicker than when you are just standing. And now a study out of Belgium documents the need for this additional distancing (article below). So get out and exercise, just try to do so in an uncrowded area, and if there are others in your area do it with an extra cushion of distancing between yourself and others.
Stay safe and healthy!
